How to make Deb’s Beef Stew

Beef Stew – a cold day staple that is delicious and easy to make. Here I show you how I make a hearty beef stew with beef, potatoes and carrots. See, simple yet flavorful. What you’ll need:

Preheat your oven at 375 degrees

1 tablespoon of vegetable oil

1-2 pounds of Beef stew meat

3-4 russet potatoes (chopped)

3 medium sized carrots (chopped)

1 medium sized onion (chopped)

3-4 cloves of diced garlic

2 fresh Bay leaves

2 tablespoons of butter (optional)

Seasonings:

1 teaspoon of Salt

1 teaspoon of Black Pepper

1 teaspoon of Onion Powder

1 teaspoon of Garlic Powder

1/2 teaspoon of Thyme

12 oz of Beef Stock (or your choice of broth)

Sear meat in a large oven safe pot using 1 tablespoon of sizzling hot vegetable oil. Add in chopped onions and garlic, cook until meat is golden brown. Next, add 12 oz of Beef stock or broth to your skillet and throw in 2 bay leafs.

Stir until all ingredients are combined place lid on your pot and place into your pre-heated oven for 2 hours. After 1 hour 20 minutes of cooking time, remove the pot from the oven and add your chopped potatoes and carrots. Place your pot back into the oven for the remaining cook time and take out and enjoy.
